What does our group offer?

Evaluations
Our practice offers comprehensive, cutting edge evaluations designed to assess your child's individual strengths and challenges. The evaluation and resulting treatment plan serve as the basis for specific, goal-directed therapy for your child, if indicated.

Treatment
Our speech and language intervention and tutoring programs are tailored to meet your child's specific needs. Children are matched with a professional possessing the best specialty skills and experience necessary to help achieve the specific goals identified in the treatment plan.

How will we work with your child?

Most of the children we see receive one to one treatment. Services can be provided at your home, school, or in our office, depending upon your child's needs. Small group sessions can be beneficial when two children have similar goals or need help in developing social language skills. Specific goals and progress will be reviewed on a regular basis and treatment will be adjusted as needed.

If requested, we are happy to consult with others who are working with your child in order to provide the most effective course of treatment.

Reading
"Reading is a language-based skill, and thus, deficits in language development can negatively affect reading achievement. The presence of a developmental language impairment should be taken as an important sign of risk for reading disabilities."

Hugh Catts, PhD., et al. Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research 2002)
Pragmatic Skills
The development of Pragmatic skills begins to occur in the early weeks of life, with tiny babies initiating communicative interchanges ("turn taking"), and "talking" (non-verbally, of course) to their caregivers.
